Stars and Stripes

The Baby Burrito

Jackson sleeps best, as do most infants, when he is wrapped so tight he cannot get his hands free. When he does, you can see on his nose in the second picture, he tends to scratch himself pretty badly.

Now and Then

Here are the two little ones on day three when they each got to head home for the first time. You can see the summer baby and winter baby, but notice how Dad put Jackson in the car seat the correct way, as opposed to putting Addy's legs and arms in the arm straps 2 years ago. This is one of the rare crying pictures we have of Jackson so far, he has really been a dream. We will see how long that lasts.

Some Final Shots from the Hospital

Addy meets Jackson for the first time.

Jackson looks up at Mom for the first time.

Addy is very excited to see Jack...

...and very excited to help out.

Heading Home for the first time

Addy is ready to change her first diaper today

We are heading home this morning. Jax passed all of his health tests last night and is eating great. Too great actually, we over fed him last night and he ended up with some cramps and gas in the middle of the night. Or so they say, since Mom and Dad were fast asleep in our own room. Hey, for the money you pay around here, you better get some free babysitting. Mom took some Ambien and slept through the whole night, unlike Monday when she had a tough time. Addy will be very excited to have us all home. She cried hard yesterday when she left, and she showed her emotions by being cuddly for the first time in forever with us before she left.
We will post some more videos and pictures by tonight once we get in a settled.

Wide Eyed

Jackson is eating very well, which is amazing since the lactose-free soy bottle we are giving him, because of Mom and Addy's allergies, are straight nasty, or so the nurses say.  Kristyn had such a bad experience breastfeeding, that we skipped it this time, and man does it make the hospital stay more relaxing.  No agonizing over the last feeding time, or anxiety over the next one.  Addy had a tough goodbye this morning and I think we will pass on the afternoon visit and just see her again tomorrow to take Jackson home.

Circumcision of the Heart to Follow...

The doctor came in this morning to tell us that Jack slept through his entire circumcision today.   Before I could get too proud, they told me he was under some heavy local anesthesia.

He is recovering for a little while, but we would love to have any visitors today after noon.  Call or text Jon when you get here so I can let you in.  (880-9596)

Jackson is with us, but sleeping.
