Notable Quotables II

Dad: I love you Addy.
Addy: I love you too, Dad. You're so fun, Dad.

Addy: (On a Sunday afternoon) "I like boys TV. I like football better than my shows."

Mom: Addy lets go upstairs and read some Bible stories before we go to bed.
Addy: No Mom, Bible stories are boring, I want to read my magazines instead. (She meant her Christmas toy catalogs that came in the mail)

Addy: (in the bathroom) Dad, can you give me some privacy. (I had to go back to get something 0ff the counter) Dad! You are not giving me my privacy!!

Addy: (while kneeling over her to kiss her goodnight, she grabs my hair and says) "Dad, your hair is greasy, you need to take a shower."

Getting Ready for the Holidays

Grandma and Aunt Caroline are coming to the Burg for Thanksgiving, so we decided to try to get Christmas decorations up to make the place feel a little warmer. Which for the ladies, of course, had to begin with cookies.

Getting Bigger and Bigger

The big hit this month for Addy is re-playing with Jax toys again. Not really age appropriate anymore...

Random Observation of No Real Merit

I don't know why, but somehow today it just dawned on me that Jackson is a L Stop in Chicago as well, actually, Addison and Jackson are both Red Line and Blue Line Stops.

Somethings Never Change...

With Family Cam, you can watch the bedtime meltdown of a two year old first hand. Just remember, when the timer goes off, the signals that tell the brain to be happy instantly begin to tell the brain STALL BEDTIME!

Happy Birthday Dad

Dad celebrated his 33rd birthday last week (11/10) and his 14th spiritual birthday (11/7). Small Groupmates Ted and Elizabeth Smith and their daughter Hastings were over for dinner and helped eat Dad's Carrot Birthday Cake that he bought for himself at half price discount at Farm Fresh!

Weekend Pajama Pics

Mom thought it was funny that we both had our feet crossed while laying on the sofa.

Check out the drooling fool.

The Bright Lights of Broadway Come to Hampton Roads

For Dad's birthday last week, Kristyn got me tickets to Monty Python's Spamalot Musical in Norfolk and let me pick my own restaurant for dinner! So Friday we had a fantastic Greek dinner at Orapax in dowtown Norfolk and then saw the highly entertaining remake of Search for the Holy Grail movie. The best part is Kristyn who doesn't like ethnic food and has never seen Monty Python loved both on this night, which made Dad very happy.

Our Greek Sampler Platter with Dolmades, Spankopita and other fun ethnic things.

The Trojan Bunny Rabbit on screen at the intermission.

To finish the weekend, we went back Sunday afternoon to Norfolk to see Playhouse Disney Live with Addy. Addy loved it and danced her way through much of the music. The show featured the Little Einsteins and Handy Manny (in person, rather than cartoon), and then Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse and their friends in life size costumes.

Our small group friends Chris and Leslie George and their daughter Ella went as well. We all got tickets off a discount site for 15 bucks each.

Pic of the Week

I just thought this Halloween picture of Abby Eason, one of Addy's small group girlfriends, was just to precious not to share.

A Day in Colonial Williamsburg

The girls at Yankee Candle Factory, the largest Christmas store you will ever find.

Little Miss Sunshines

Some more fun with Tylea and Addy this week as they visted Yorktown.

More New Friends

Welcome to ANOTHER new baby, Alyse Catherine Dallas was born over the weekend to small group-mates Andy and Melissa Dallas. That makes 10 girls and Jackson to be born into our small group. But to balance out the future dating, we have taken on two new couples with three boys between them in the past year.

And some more pics of Olivia Simone who was born Monday. Olivia's Dad works with Jon at the Chapel as the Minister of Students and her big sister, Sophia, is one of Addy's favorites. This town is in a baby boom. Did I mention we need more nursery volunteers at the Chapel?

I can hear it now...

Starting at forward for the Tribe, a 6' 10'' Senior from our own backyard, Jack Ritner.

Four month Check up stats
27 inches long (97th percentile)
14 lbs 14 oz. (50th percentile)
Head circumference (50th percentile)

So just to set the record straight, Jackson at 4 months weighs half of what Addy weighs now at 33 months. WOW...and she thinks when he gets "bigger and bigger" he is going to play with her! Ha, he is going to smother her...

Blogging Babies Finally Meet

One of Addy's online Blogging buddies, Tylea Crow is in town visiting with her mom, Jen this week. Jen and Kristyn are old college volleyball teammates and have been going through the first daughter stages together, with Addy getting an 11 month head start on Tylea. Here are some highlights so far.

Another New Friend

Olivia Simone is still awaiting a middle name but she wants you to know that she arrived at 8:18 a.m., weighs 7 lbs. 15 oz. and is 19” long. Her doctor said that she is as “healthy as they come.” Nina, Travis and Sophia are happy to have her at home and everyone is doing well.
